USGS Real-Time Earthquake Map:
The USGS generates a real-time map of earthquakes that have occurred over the past 7 days in the United States. The map includes the age and the strength of any earthquake with a magnitude over 1.0. This map is updated hourly.
Animated Real-Time Earthquake Map:
The USGS also
provides animated
versions of its real-time earthquake maps. Animations are updated hourly.

The USGS "Did You Feel It?" Database:
The USGS "Did You Feel It?" page used public surveys to track the extent and damage of recorded Earthquakes. These surveys are updated as new survey data comes in. -
Weston Observatory Earthquake Database:
Boston College's Weston Observatory is an earthquake research station that monitors Northeast. Their site contains many earthquake links, including a list of recent earthquakes in New England.
NOAA Atlantic Satellite Image:
The National Hurricane Center provides satellite images of current storm and cloud activity over the Atlantic. The NOAA Satellite Center also provides "Floater Imagery"; close-up images of active Hurricanes and Tropical Storms in the Atlantic. Images are updated every few hours.
NOAA Pacific Satellite Image:
National Hurricane Center also has satellite images available for tropical cyclones in the Pacific. These images are updated every few hours.

NOAA Daily Tropical Weather Outlook
The NOAA Daily Tropical Weather Outlook page provides written weather forecasts for currently actives hurricanes and tropical storms in the Atlantic and Pacific. These forecasts are updated as necessary, depending on current hurricane conditions.
NWS River Flood Forecast Center:
The National Weather Service River Forecast Center provides real-time data on hundreds of river flood gauges
across the United States. This is the most complete listing of stream gages at or above flood
stage in the U.S. Please note that these flood reports are not adjusted for ice. This map is
updated every few hours.
USGS Flood and High Flow Map:
The USGS flood and high flow map shows the location of stream gages currently at flood stage or approaching flood stage. Please note that flood conditions may be more extensive than those shown on the map. The NWS River Forecast Center monitors additional non-USGS stream gauges not shown on this map. This map is updated regularly.
NWS River Flood Outlook:
The National Weather Service provides flooding forecasts for the entire United States at their Significant River Flood Outlook site. Predictions are provided on a weekly basis.
USGS Relative Streamflow Map:
The USGS hosts
a relative streamflow
map that tracks short-term changes of water flow in rivers and
streams. This map compares
current streamflows at USGS stream gauging sites to
historical records, and reports whether a given river is running higher or lower than normal for this time of
year. This map is updated daily.

NOAA Water Level Monitoring Stations
NOAA provides a web site which graphs the current and expected tide levels as recorded from their national network of Water Level Monitoring Stations. The web site also provides a list of stations which are currently experiencing High Water Advisories and Storm Tide Alerts throughout the United States. The water level graphs are updated several times a day.
NWS Tsunami Event Map:
The NWS hosts
a real-time
tsunami event map that shows current tsunami events, tsunami warnings,
and routine reports of underwater earthquakes for North America.
This map is updated as new events and reports arrive.
Global Tsunami Warning Map:
The NWS Tsunami
Warning Center also tracks earthquakes with tsunami alert messages attached
to them. This map shows underwater earthquakes and tsunami warnings
for the entire globe. Tsunami alerts shown here are from the
last 30 days.
Current Wildfire Dangers:
The USDA Forest Service Wildland Fire Assessment System provides a daily assessment of current fires and fire dangers in the U.S.
Wildfire Danger Forecast:
The USDA Forest Service Wildland Fire Assessment System also provides a short-term forecast of fire danger for the next day.
NOAA Fire Weather Forecast:
The NWS Fire Weather Forecasts provide short-term forecasts of wildfire danger by assessing whether currrent weather conditions that might be favorable to wildfire generation.

US Large Fire Incidents Page:
The USDA Forest Service provides a Large Fire Incidents Map using information form the National Interagency Fire Center. The map provides real-time maps and information for forest fires larger than 100 acres, or grass fires larger than 300 acres. -
Current MODIS Fire Detections:
The USDA Forest Service MODIS Active Fire Mapping Program uses satellite imagery to detect wildifres as they are actually ocurring. The map shown here shows all active fires detected within the last 12 hours.
The CDC Weekly Influenza Summary Map:
The CDC provides a weekly Flu Activity Map which shows the severity of flu outbreaks in each state
across the U.S. The Flu outbreak maps are updated only during flu season (October through May). These maps are typically two weeks behind real-time, as it takes time and resources to tabulate hospital and health department data from across the country.
Pandemic Flu Map :
The Department of Health and
Human Services has created a pandemic
flu web page that includes a map
of confirmed pandemic bird flu cases across the globe. This map will
be updated as new information becomes available.

Mosquito-Bourne Viruses:
The USGS provides mosquito tracking and outbreak maps for the West Nile Virus, Encephalitis (EEE, WEE, SLE, and LAC), and the Powassan Virus. These maps are updated as new information becomes available. -
HealthMap.org:
The Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences & Technology has created a Real-Time Global Disease Alert Map called HealthMap. HealthMap integrates outbreak data from news feeds (aggregated with Google News), curated personal accounts (from ProMED Mail), and validated official alerts (from the World Health Organization and EuroSurveilance). Through an automated system, this data is aggregated by disease and displayed by location. HealthMap provides a jumping-off point for real-time information on emerging infectious diseases and has particular interest for public health officials and international travelers. This map is updated as new information becomes available. -
CDC Avian Flu Assessment:

Washington Post Avian Flu Map:
The Washington Post hosts an interactive map on the spread of bird flu throughout the globe.
US Drought Monitor:
The National Drought
Mitigation Center runs the US
Drought Monitoring Map which tracks drought intensities across the U.S.
This map is updated every Thursday at 8:30AM EST.
US Drought Monitor - 12 Week History:
The National Drought
Mitigation Center also has an animated
historical map which shows the changes in drought conditions across the
US over the last 3 months.
NWS Doppler Radar Mosaic:
The NWS
has created a national
doppler radar map which shows areas of precipitation (rain, snow, or
hail) throughout the United States. Colored areas are areas of
precipitation, and the amount of the precipitation shown by the
color. Light precipitation is blue, moderate is green to yellow, and heavy precipitation
is red. This map is updated often.
NWS Rainfall Probability Forecast:
The National
Weather Service in partnership with several agencies provides a rainfall
prediction map which displays likely rainfall amounts for the next 3 hours throughout the U.S. The
map is accessed by choosing your region on the left hand side,
and then clicking Rainfall amount. Times on the map
are shown in Universal Coordinated Time (UTC), also known as
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern
Standard Time (EST) and 4 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Savings Time (EDT). These
maps are updated every few hours.
US Snow Cover:
NCAR provides a basic Snow Map which simply depicts areas covered in snow or ice.
US Snow Depth:
NCAR also provides a Snow Depth Map for Canada and the U.S. (Note: Snow depth is measured in centimeters.)
NOAA 3-Day Preliminary Snowfall Measurements:
The NOAA National Climatic Data Center provides a map of snow depth over the last 3 days, based on preliminary reports from NOAA.
NWS Watch, Warning and Advisory Map:
The National Weather Service produces
a Watch, Warning,
and Advisory map that shows currently active weather warnings, watches,
and advisories throughout the U.S. Please note that map will
only display the most severe weather advisory for your area.

SPC Watch and Warning Map:
The NWS Storm Prediction Center provides a simple map of severe thunderstorm, tornado, and flash flood warnings in the U.S. This map is updated regularly as new information arrives.
NWS Current Storm Predictions:
The NWS Storm Prediction Center provides a real-time image loop of severe thunderstorms throughout the U.S. These images are updated continuously.
NWS National Weather Forecast:
This National Weather Service map shows the current weather forecast for the united states. These weather forecasts are produced every day.

Live Feeds of NWS Watches, Warnings, and Advisories
NWS now provides live web feeds for all weather watches, warnings, and advisories in your state. Even if you do not have a Live Feed Reader, you can still use this site to read the current weather advisories for your state or county.
NWS Tornado Watches:
The NWS Storm Prediction Center provides a map of active tornado and severe thunderstorm watches in the United States. BLUE boxes are severe thunderstorm watches, and RED boxes are tornado watches. This map is updated continuously.
NWS Current Storm Reports:
The NWS Storm Prediction Center provides a real-time map of current tornado touchdowns, high winds, and hail strikes for the U.S. These images are updated regularly.
Vaisala - Lightning Explorer:
Vaisala Measurement
Systems hosts a
lightning strikes map which displays 90% to 95% of lighting strikes throughout
the United States. The lightning strikes map display is 20 minutes behind
real-time, and is updated every 20 minutes.
NWS Lightning Probability Forecast:
The National Weather Service in partnership with several agencies provides a lightning prediction map which displays the likelihood of lighting strikes throughout the U.S. over the next 3 hours. The map is accessed by choosing your region on the left hand side, and then clicking "Prob. CG ltg". Times on the map are shown in Universal Coordinated Time (UTC), also known as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST) and 4 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). These maps are updated every few hours.

AirNow National Air Quality Map:
The government AirNow Web Site provides
a National
air quality Forecast Map for major U.S. cities. These forecasts are updated
daily.

AirNow Air Pollution Action Days Map
The government AirNow Web Site provides a map of U.S. cities that have declared "Action Days" due to high air pollution. These forecasts are updated daily.
Earth Observatory - Natural Hazards:
NASA's Earth Observatory provides a map of natural hazards that were observed by NASA satellites in the past week. Each image is accompanied by a short write-up explaining the satellite photo and the science behind it.
The National Hazards Support System (NHSS):
The USGS National Hazards Support System provides a mapping tool which allows the user to create customized hazard and disaster maps in real-time. The map controls are complex, but the user can create their own custom maps for recent earthquakes, active volcanoes and fires, current hurricanes, and weather warnings.
National Interagency Airspace Information Website:
The Bureau of Land Management's National Office of Aviation provides interactive maps of Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) in order to help pilots visualize the extent of airspace restrictions in order to avoid inadvertent flight into airspace restricted by TFRs. This site's TFR bulletins and interactive maps are available 24/7. TFR text is updated every 12 minutes and TFR maps are updated within 30 minutes during business hours (Monday - Friday, 0700-1600 Mountain Time) and twice daily (0700 and 1300 Mountain Time) on weekends and holidays.

Weather.com Interstate Highway Conditions:
The Weather Channel provides a map of current interstate highway conditions and a forecast of tomorrow's highway conditions as well. These maps are updated daily. -
Weather.com Current Airport Impact :
The Weather Channel provides a map of major U.S. airports currently impacted by weather. This map is updated hourly. -
Weather.com Current Airport Delays:
The Weather Channel provides a map of current airport delays at major US Airport hubs in the country. This map is updated hourly. -
NWS Interactive Weather Map
The NWS Interactive Weather Map allows users to view maps of current temperatures, weather, wind gusts, snow depth, and wave height by moving their mouse over a table on the right side of the screen.

The National Atlas:
The National Atlas Map Maker also provides a mapping tool to create customized maps in real-time. The map controls are complex, but the user can create their own custom maps from dozens of data sources. Several hazard maps can also be created using this system, including maps of historical hazardous events (under the Climate menu), several Earthquake and Landslide maps, including landslide susceptibility) are listed under the Geology menu; and historical West Nile Virus maps are available under the People-Health submenu.
